Burlotto follows up their superb 2009s with this largely successful set of 2010 Barolos. Only the Acclivi is a bit of a mystery today. Long macerations and aging in cask are the norm at Burlotto, one of Barolo's most historic estates. The flagship Barolo Monvigliero is made with 100% whole clusters, a highly unusual practice in Piedmont, but one that gives the wine much of its signature. Readers who have not discovered Burlotto yet owe it to themselves to do so. These are some of the most compelling, traditionally made wines in Piedmont.
