Burlotto has made significant strides in quality, especially over the last decade, yet the property and their wines remain under the radar to all but the most well informed appassionati. The 2009s are quite big and ripe relative to the norm here, and as such, they might not please ardent traditionalists, but what struck me about the wines is their quality within the context of the year. Simply put, Burlotto and proprietor Fabio Alessandria have done a fabulous job with these 2009s.
