Founded in 1975, Dehlinger remains a classic, old-school operation that turns out consistently delicious whites and reds from their estate vineyards in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The Chardonnay and the range of Pinots are terrific examples of the appellation. The Pinots are done in a modern, measured style that deftly balances Russian River exuberance with a good bit of complementary energy. My only critique with regard to the Pinots is that in some vintages, the differences between the various bottlings are not especially pronounced. The biggest surprise in this range is how good the Syrahs and Cabernet Sauvignon are, as these varieties are rarely seen in the Russian River. Last but not least, the Garbro Ranch wines are very fine in 2023.
