“The vintage is like a yo-yo,” says Géraldine Godot, Domaine de l’Arlot’s winemaker since the 2015 vintage, today flanked by Christian Seely (the Domaine is part of AXA-Millésime’s portfolio). “From August to harvest, we had very good conditions and fine balance between the fruit and the tannins. We started picking on September 6 and finished on 12, cropped around 43.5 hl/ha. There is no whole bunch used this year because now, I am more confident with our destemmed fruit, plus there was a limitation on space in the vat. It is a Burgundian style, which is what we want, like 2022 but with less depth.”
