This is an impressive set of wines from Peay. Readers will find all of the pedigree of the 2018 vintage in the Chardonnays and Pinots. The same is true of the Syrahs, both from 2017, a year that turned out to be quite favorable for that variety. I was especially struck by the 2018 Pinots, wines that have tremendous dimension and layers to their personalities all the way throughout the range. As always, the estate Pinots are blends with specific personalities rather than single block or single vineyard wines. The Pinots spent 11 months in oak, as did the Chardonnays, while the Syrahs saw 15 months in oak. The Peay wines have been compelling for a number of years. This year's lineup is especially stellar.
