This is a superb set of new releases from the Donelan family. The 2020 whites show what was possible in this very challenging year. Readers will also find much to admire in the 2019 Rhône wines. The 2019s are a bit more exuberant and forward than the cooler 2018s. I find the combination of forward fruit and cool-climate savoriness present in most of the wines hugely appealing. The Pinots are also terrific, but my impression is that the vineyard sites are not at the same level, which ultimately is manifested in wines that are outstanding, but not as thrilling as the top Syrahs.
