According to Vincent Geantet's daughter Emilie, who started her own negociant business in 2006, the family domain did a sorting at harvest time in 2005 to eliminate the dried and pink grapes, bringing in fruit that, on average, was chaptalized from 12.2% potential alcohol to 13%. Less pigeage was needed than usual because there was so much coloring material in the grape skins. As always, these wines were bottled early-in this case a week before my visit, filtered but not fined.
