Even after carrying out a green harvest in virtually all of his parcels, Vincent Geantet brought in a full crop in 2002.Some of the fruit was slightly roasted by the sun but there was no rot, he told me, and in any event he uses a sorting table.Geantet described the vintage as excellent-'like 1990 but with more finesse.'The malos finished very early and the wines were bottled in early October. When you bottle early, you keep the fruit and the fat,' Geantet opined. And the wines don't really close up.When you bottle later, you get less glycerol and more dryness.'
