As has been his habit in recent years, Geantet bottled his 2001s in October. He describes the '01s as "elegant, balanced, pure," adding that they remind him a bit of the '96s. The typical wine began with grape sugars in the 11.5% to 11.8% range and was chaptalized to 12.5% to 12.9%, according to Geantet, who added that all of his crus are aged in one-third new oak.
