A year ago, Yves Boyer told me that his 2013s were higher in acidity than his 2014s, but at the beginning of June I found the 2014s more harmonious. But both vintages are successful here, as Boyer generally does well in fresher vintages.

Yves Boyer has lost literally half of his last three years' worth of production, with quantities down 40% in 2014, 50% in 2013 and 60% in 2012. Grape sugars in 2014 were similar to those of 2013, said Boyer at the end of May, "in the range of 12.5% to 13%. But 2013 was higher in acidity, and the wines are more linear and brisk." Boyer stirred the 2014s weekly until the end of the malolactic fermentations, which were finished by February.
