I was deeply impressed with the Barolos I tasted at Cordero di Montezemolo. Alberto Cordero and his team have done an excellent job with these wines. The young 2013s are some of the best wines I have tasted here. As has been the case for some time, the estate occupies a central position on the stylistic spectrum although in recent years the wines appear a bit less oaky than they did previously. Although one of Piedmont's historic estates, Cordero di Montezemolo remains somewhat under the radar.
