Joann and Cris Cherry have expanded their range with the recent addition of an entry-level range of wines called Cherry House that deliver outstanding value. It’s great news that they will be made in sufficient quantity for wide distribution, unlike their limited production Villa Creek and MAHA estate bottlings. The Cherrys have been joined at the winery by their son, Henri, and daughter, Camille, as well. Continuing an ongoing trend, the 2018s here show a compelling blend of richness and energy, with greater detail than their 2017 siblings. They are also quite expressive at this stage and I wonder if they will ever truly close down given their well-judged and harmonious tannins.
