Joey Tensley excels with bold, Rhône-inspired reds. The wines are on the richer side yet convey plenty of site character, which I personally value highly in vineyard-designate bottlings. The 2022s are every bit as strong as I expected they would be based on barrel tastings last year, while the 2023s show plenty of potential. "In 2023, we reached full flavors at lower Brix levels than is the norm," Tensley explained. "We had more than two times the annual amount of rainfall. It was also our latest harvest ever."
