Stolpman is without question one of the most improved wineries in Santa Barbara over the last decade. Pete Stolpman and his team led by vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano and winemaker Kyle Knapp have brought a level of energy and vibrancy to these wines that was missing in the past. The Stolpman Syrahs still have plenty of body and richness – this is Ballard Canyon after all – but today’s wines offer far greater delineation and focus than in the past. This is an exciting set of new releases.
