Staglin made one of the better 2020 Cabernets I tasted. Winemaker Fredrik Johansson explained that the wine did not see any new wood (which can provide smoke markers through toast levels) until the wine had tested clean of smoke taint. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the coming months and years. Although red wines are naturally the focus, the Staglin family also makes a truly distinctive Chardonnay.
