This is another strong set of wines from Staglin. Winemaker Fredrik Johansson has done a terrific job bringing out the personality of this Rutherford site. Napa Valley is naturally Cabernet land, but the Staglin Chardonnay is once again a highlight. Sadly, the Staglins have lost the lease to the Booth-Bella Oaks vineyard, but that will probably be a positive over the long term, as it will allow more focus on the estate vineyard.
