Ente told me even before I left New York for Burgundy that he would not be able to show me his 2012s, as he made tiny quantities of wine and ultimately bottled the vintage mostly in magnums.In the end, though, I was able to taste the three cuvees "that exist in the market."Ente described 2012 as "not a particularly long-aging vintage, but rich, ripe and sweet due to the tiny quantities."Yields weren't much better in 2013--ranging from 14 to 27 hectoliters per hectare, following strict elimination of hailed-on and rotten grapes--but Ente, always an early picker, benefited by finishing his harvest on October 4, the day before substantial rainfall.Grape sugars ranged between 11.5% and 12% and most of the '13s will be bottled with just 12.2% to 12.4% alcohol, with very firm acidity levels.
