Thibault Liger-Belair picked a bit on the late side for riper phenolic material, beginning on September 5, then eliminated 2% to 5% of his grapes due to rot and underripeness. The vintage was tricky to vinify, he told me, "because it was hard to know whether the grapes needed more extraction or a gentler approach."
