Always a solid producer, especially for Pinot Noir, Wrath has been stepping up their game steadily in recent vintages. These 2019s are, perhaps, the best set of bottlings I have yet tasted here. Winemaker Sabrine Rodem made the most of the vintage, crafting a collection of judiciously oaked wines that showcase detail and energy, but with good concentration as well. The Pinots are especially delicious already, but I strongly advise giving them at least a few more years of patience. Rodem is not afraid of new oak, and her wines can see up to 40% of it, depending on the vintage. She is also a fan of whole clusters, used judiciously, as in around 20%, on average, for the Pinots and Syrah. I strongly encourage readers to seek out these wines, which are made in decent quantity for the region but, relative to many other AVAs, on the small side.
