In 2010, son Maximilian von Kunow took the reins at his family's estate, turning in a stellar performance with his first vintage.Not all of the 2011s, though, in particular the dry Grosses Gewachs, are of the same stature, but the delicate kabinetts and succulent spatleses were spot on. The rieslings from the Scharzhofberg are a tad finer this year than those of the estate's monopole site, the Hutte in Oberemmel.That said, all are very fairly priced.
