This is a positively stellar set of wines from Tom Rochioli. The Chardonnays are positively brilliant. Readers will note the addition of a new wine, the Little Hill, which is sourced from the oldest vines on the property. Picking earlier and a less pushed approach in the cellar is beginning to yield Chardonnays of true distinction. I was also quite taken with the new Pinot Noir Big Hill, which is simply dazzling. Here, too, the wines show more finesse and nuance than in the past. To be sure, a touch of whole cluster influence for the Pinots adds a palpable sense of lift to the wines.
