I tasted a wide range of current releases recently with longtime Pride winemaker Sally Johnson and her colleague, Margaux Lacoste, who focuses on the whites. The 2014 reds are intense and powerful, while the 2015s emerge from a vintage Johnson calls the most difficult of her life, as yields were down by 75% and the small crop ripened very fast. Although the Pride reds are quite showy when they are young, they do benefit from at least a few years in bottle. As for the whites, they are made in a brighter, fresher style than was the norm just a few years back.
