In a nutshell, "2008 brought low volume and high concentration," said winemaker Nic Morlet. He is confident that the '08 chardonnays have the depth and concentration to age well. Morley compared the new crop of releases to his 2007s but said that the earlier vintage was "like a candy store; the wines are just as serious as the '08s but they have showed so much fruit since the very beginning, while the 2008s are more serious and more dense. The '08s are also longer wines on the palate and they deserve patience." By the way, Morlet also compares his 2008 chardonnays to Peter Michael's 2002s, for those who have followed this estate's wines through the years.
