Giorgio Rivetti's Barolos keep getting better and better with each passing vintage. Even though the wines are quite approachable when young, they are also proving to age gracefully. A recent bottle of the 2000 Barolo Campè was terrific, and easily the best example of that wine I have ever had. As is the case throughout the Langhe, the Spinetta wines of today are a bit less concentrated and oaky than they were a decade ago, but they still have plenty of richness and texture.
