Stefan Rumpf and his sons Johannes and Georg have noticeably improved the quality of their wines over the past several vintages but remain at times a touch inconsistent. That said, the 2009s are considerably more elegant than their rieslings of the past, all the while retaining refreshing acidity that will certainly help them evolve nicely. And these wines do often need time to develop.
