Lécheneaut's 2012s largely confirm my very positive first impressions from last year, although a handful of the wines are quite shut down at this stage. Readers should not plan on opening any of the top village wines or 1er Crus for at least a few years, if not longer.

Vincent and Philippe Lécheneaut's 2012s are terrific across the board. On average, yields came in at 34 hectoliters per hectare, down 20% from normal levels, but far better than at many other addresses. None of the wines had been racked at the time of my tastings. Vincent Lécheneaut planned to move the wines to tank in January, let them settle for a month or two, then start bottling around February. Overall, the 2012s here are deep and powerful, with less of the early appeal I saw elsewhere. Burgundy is full of under-the-radar growers. Lécheneaut is one of them.
