Brothers Jean-Luc and Eric Burguet endured a brutal year in 2016. Severe frost took with it 35% of the production, while mildew pressure in May and June accounted for a second 35% loss. The Burguets were in the early days of converting their estate to full biodynamics, but after the challenges of 2016, the Burguets settled on the slightly more flexible lutte raisonée approach going forward. Readers will note a much smaller range this year, as the tiny yields of 2016 meant the Burguets were not able to buy fruit from the sites they usually source from. There is no Chambolle-Musigny Les Echezeaux, Vosne-Romanée, Vosne-Romanée Les Rouges de Dessus 1er Cru or Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru. - Antonio Galloni
