"There was nothing missing in 2005," said Christian Moreau, "but at the beginning the wines were hard to taste and we weren't convinced. Until the end of the malolactic fermentation they showed more varietal than site character. It's not the vintage of the century; it's like 1992 and fruitier than 2002. But the 2004s are more classic." The 2005s can be enjoyed in their youth, but there will be no problem waiting five or six years, Moreau added.
