Ryan Devolet showed a gorgeous set of wines. Deovlet describes 2019 as cooler than 2018, with a harvest that was two weeks later. I preferred the Pinots to the Chardonnays here in 2019, as they seem to have a bit more depth. The Pinots generally see some whole clusters and spend 15-16 months in barrel. The Chardonnays are done in a style that emphasizes energy and tend to have some of the malolactic fermentation blocked. As always, the appellation-level wines are very strong here. Last, but certainly not least, the Cabernet Sauvignon from Star Lane is terrific.
