This is a striking set of wines from Ross Cobb. At a time when so many winemakers follow trends, Cobb is one of the few who has the courage to follow his own convictions. Cobb gives his wines more time in barrel than is the norm. The wines are generally made with a high percentage of whole clusters, fermented with native yeasts and handled minimally in the cellar. At times, the Pinots can be a bit reduced. Readers should plan to give the wines a fair bit of oxygenation prior to drinking them. Cobb fans will note several single block/single clone bottlings off the estate vineyard in the 2014 vintage.
