Over the past decade, this estate has consistently turned out excellent wines, with both 2010 and 2011 being benchmarks for the entire region. While the dry rieslings were a touch herbal in 2012, the delicately sweet wines continue to set the bar for the entire nation. The Rausch was again one of the best spätleses of the vintage. That came as no surprise, though, as I had already rated its predecessor from 2003 as the best of its ilk in my annual ten-years-after tastings.
