“Two-thousand twenty was already a challenging year, even before the fires,” longtime winemaker Tegan Passalacqua explained as we tasted through the wines. “The drought and high temperatures were just brutal. Vines were stressed everywhere. In many places our yields were less than a ton per acre,” he added. Not surprisingly, the wines show the effects of those challenging conditions, to varying degrees. Overall, though, this is a solid set of 2020s. These reviews cover all the wines Turley bottled in 2020. One quick note: reviews for the three Howell Mountain 2020s we published previously were for the 2019s; those wines were not bottled in 2020.
