I tasted a wide range of wines with Tommy Fogarty and associate winemaker Nathan Kandler, but found the Chardonnays and Pinots the most compelling. The Chardonnays are aged for 16-18 months in French oak, while the Pinots see shorter élevage of around 10 months. All of the wines I tasted are deeply expressive to site. The only problem will be finding them, given the small case productions. Nevertheless, these new releases, from one of Santa Cruz Mountains oldest wineries, are well worth seeking out.
