Once again, I tasted a wide range of wines at Taittinger. What is left to say? Taittinger's Comtes has already proven time and again it is the single best value in high-end Champagne. There is no new release this year, but the 2007 and 2008, both of which I tasted from dosage trials, are worthy follow ups to the stellar 2006. As good as Comtes is, some of the other wines have not always been so stellar. Hopefully the 2008 Brut Millesime is representative of an effort to find a little more consistency throughout the entire range.
