Owner Giancarlo Pacenti farms 24 hectares in Montalcino’s northern and southern sectors: 13 hectares in Piancornello (in the south), and 10 hectares in Pelagrilli (in the north). The two areas have different soils and microclimates and lead to making very different wines. For example, his Brunello di Montalcino PS is made with grapes grown in 1.5 hectares in the oldest part of the Pelagrilli area in the north that had been planted by his father Siro roughly thirty years ago. Famed Bordeaux winemaker Eric Boissent consults at Siro Pacenti since 2010 (prior to that, another famous Bordeaux winemaker, Yves Glorie, who passed away in 2009, was the consultant).
