This is a very attractive set of new releases from Red Car and winemaker Earl Scheer. The wines are a bit richer than in the past. Some of that may be a reflection of vintage, but it’s not a bad thing for wines that have, at times, been excessively lean. The style still favors energy and brightness. There is a bit of whole cluster influence in the Pinots, but it is modest. Readers will note that the appellation Pinot is now labeled West Sonoma Coast. The 2021 edition is superb.
