The Calì family has lived in the heart of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria production area since 1700, and their 15-hectare estate is planted to only two varieties, the local and highly typical Frappato and Nero d’Avola. The vineyards are located at an altitude of roughly 180 meters, and although the soils are strongly sandy and water stress can be a problem, Calì’s wines rarely if ever show unripe tannins. The first Cerasuolo di Vittoria made by the estate dates back only to 2003.
