It is said that you recognize the true character of a producer in a difficult vintage. If that is true, it speaks volumes about Hansjorg Rebholz, whose only criticism of 2006 was that there was so little of it. As in 2005, there were few of the mouthwatering kabinetts that were long the hallmark of this estate, but everything else he touched turned, if not to gold, at least to silver. His top riesling, chardonnay and pinot noir again rate among the finest wines produced in Germany in the vintage.
