Eric Schueller, cellarmaster at Léon Beyer, who has been with the estate since 1983, has taken on more of an active role since the surprise departure earlier this year of Marc Beyer’s son Yann. The estate has undertaken a replanting of old vines with their own massal selections. Last but not least, as he did not think it was up to his standards, Marc Beyer decided not to release a 2017 Sylvaner, which is a shame, for the estate usually makes a good one.
