Köfererhof, a small, family-run estate, is located in the Valle Isarco, which is the most northerly of Alto Adige's appellations. If I were going to choose a reference point producer for the Valle Isarco, it would be Köfererhof or Manni Nössing. The wines here are brilliant, taut and full of energy. As for the 2012s, well, they are special. It is hard to put into words what proprietor Gunther Kerschbaumer has achieved in just a few short years here.
