Stefan Justen remains one of the Mosel's silent stars. Although he has slowly brought Meulenhof out of anonymity over the past few vintages and also makes the wines at the estate of Stephan Ehlen, he is hardly a household word. As his style often tends to be slightly rich, I generally prefer his rieslings in cooler vintages like 2012, in particular the spätleses that offer some of the best value for money in the region.
