Although even Bernd and Andreas Spreitzer were dealt few face cards this year, they made the best of a difficult hand. This is certainly not 2004 in terms of quality, but a well-made collection of wines that expresses the tone of the vintage. There are few highlights, but also no unpleasant surprises. Everything is not only pleasant to drink but comparatively affordable. As always, the rieslings from the Doosberg vineyard are more modern in style, while those from Lenchen are more classically Rheingau in profile.
