Davide Rosso is one of Serralunga's most visible producers. Rosso's Barolos have always been solid, but my sense is that he has always been limited by a lack of truly great sites and a cramped cellar that is barely adequate. Both of those things are set to change. Rosso has pieced together enviable holdings in Collina Rionda, partly through inheriting plots from his uncle, Tommaso Canale, that ironically once belonged to Rosso's mother, and a subsequent smaller acquisition. A new cellar is now in the works. All of that makes Rosso the producer to watch in Serralunga right now.
