Giorgio Pelissero presented a superb set of new releases this year. As always, Pelissero has a very clear idea of what he is going for, and that has proven to be a winning strategy over time. The wines are texturally rich and intense, with fine balance and tons of up-front appeal, but also a touch more verve than in the past. In 2020, the Barbarescos aren't quite as differentiated as they can be. Those nuances may very well emerge with more time in bottle.
