Zac Wasserman makes wines under two labels. DiPalermo, named in honor of Wasserman's grandfather, focuses on Burgundy varieties. The wines here have improved meaningfully in recent years. At Frequency, Wasserman works with Rhône varieties to craft wines of notable character. The 2022s are a bit uneven, which is mostly a reflection on a series of challenging personal events that happened as these wines were aging, plus moving to a new facility. Zac Wasserman has come a long way since I first met him many years ago when he was Joey Tensley's assistant winemaker, but he is still only at the beginning of what will hopefully be a long career.
