Zac Wasserman is without question one of the most talented young winemakers in Santa Barbara. Wasserman works alongside Joey Tensley and makes wines under his Frequency and Di Palermo labels, which focus on Rhône and Burgundy varieties respectively. Wasserman sources fruit from a handful of top sites to craft wines that marry richness. Over the last few years, the wines have gained in freshness, which is a huge positive given that richness comes pretty naturally in these sites. I find the Frequency wines to be especially distinctive, which is hardly a surprise given all the years Wasserman has spent learning from Joey Tensley.
