Zac Wasserman is Joey Tensley's assistant winemaker and also makes wines under his own label, Frequency. Stylistically, Wasserman's wines offer plenty of intensity, but not quite as much structure as the wines he makes with Tensley. I found the bottled 2013s are as good or better than they were from barrel. In addition to those wines, I also tasted the 2014 GSM, Syrah Verna's and Syrah Mormann, all of which were raw, not fully formed and likely in need of racking. Zac Wasserman has only been in the game for a few years, yet his enthusiam and intellectual curiosity are both evident. I suspect we will be seeing even greater things in the future, as these wines are terrific.

These are the first wines I have tasted from Zach Wasser, who is also Joey Tensley's assistant winemaker. Production is tiny, but hopefully that won't always be the case, as these are special wines that deserve a wider audience.
