This is a terrific set of new releases from Akiko and Ken Freeman. Quality has been on the rise here for several years, almost irrespective of vintage. The 2022 Pinots offer tons of forward juiciness while also conveying a good deal of coastal freshness. The Gloria and Akiko's Cuvée are especially fine. The 2023 Chardonnays will be fascinating to follow. Today, the wines are marked by the tension and energy of the cold, late-ripening season. It will be interesting to see if the wines relax a bit with time.
