This is a gorgeous set of wines from sisters Marie-Andrée and Marie-Christine Mugneret. Sadly, yields are down a whopping 45% across the board. The harvest started on September 23. Malos were done by March and the wines were racked shortly thereafter. The Mugneret-Gibourg wines are defined by their total sense of transparency. That essential quality is very much on display in these gorgeous, effortless wines. The only problem with the 2012s is going to be finding them. Readers should note that the domaine is no longer making their Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru now that the vines are old enough to once again be bottled as Ruchottes-Chambertin.
