Jean-François Mestre reported that he made a normal harvest of about 50 hectoliters per hectare in his Meursault premier crus and Narvaux, as these vineyards were spared by the frost. But Sous La Velle produced just half of a normal crop. He added that the estate picked relatively early to avoid surmaturité, beginning on September 19. Grape sugars in both 2016 and 2017 were typically around 12.8% to 13%, as the estate "never looks for high alcohol levels."
